School Daily Menu Orders

School Daily Menu Orders allows you to create an order for a Site or Site Groups from a School Daily Menu.

Meals Plus takes all the recipes on all menus assigned to that school(s) for the dates selected, and calculates the amount of each ingredient needed to prepare the number of servings offered.

• Select Sites to display the sites in the district, or Site Groups to only display the site groups, such as Elementary Schools, Middle Schools, etc.
• Select the Sites or Site Groups you want to create an order for by checking the box next to the Id or Description.
• Select a Serving Date Range from the From and To fields.
• Select a delivery date of the order from the Delivery Date field.

  • If a delivery date is entered, any Staples Delivery Day settings entered in Site Setup will be ignored.

  • Only one order, with this delivery date will be created if this is selected.

  Or,

• Select Serving Date to indicate that the serving date equals the delivery date, and if dates were selected from the Serving Date Range. The user may also have the Staples Delivery Day settings set up in Site Setup. If they do, this will:

  • Create one order for all items in the Staples Delivery Storage Location for a Delivery Date of the day (entered in Site Setup) of the week prior to the From date of the serving date range.

  • If the delivery day has passed (Example: delivery day was Monday, but you are not entering next week’s order until Thursday), set the Delivery Date to the following delivery day (Monday). This will remain a separate order.

  • For items not in the specified Storage Location, create one order per day in the Serving Date range, and set the Delivery Date of each order to match the Serving Date.

  • Example: A site has a Staples Delivery Day of Tuesday for items in the Pantry Storage Location. Go into School Daily Menu Orders, and select the serving dates from 9/18/17 to 9/22/17. Inventory will create a total of (6) six orders. The Staples will have a delivery date of 9/12/17, and will contain all of the items needed for a Storage Location of Pantry. The other (5) five orders will have delivery dates of 9/18, 9/19, 9/20, 9/21, 9/22 and will contain every item not in the Storage Location Pantry needed for the Serving Date.

   

   

PREVIEW OPTIONS

• Select Create and to view the order.
  • If there are any Warnings on the order, and the order is created before the Warnings report is created/previewed or if no issues are found, a message will appear:

   

  

   

  • When an order is created from a School Daily Menu, the users will receive a message advising them that an order has already been created from that School Daily Menu if a duplicate is attempted.

   

  

  • If there are no orders to be previewed, a different message will appear:

    • All Order Items have warnings—run a Warnings report from the School Daily Menus Order screen to view possible issues.

    • No applied School Daily Menus found—check the sites and dates entered on the screen and verify in MNU: School Daily Menu.

    • Orders have already been created—if the orders are still open, you can delete them and recreate if you need it to pick up new items that have been added.

  

CREATE/PREVIEW ORDER

• If the weight per serving of the Inventory item was not set, it will still be added to the order as ‘0’ Primary Qty and ‘0’ Secondary Qty.
• If the order looks correct, click the button.

• A message displays telling the user the order can be viewed in Manage Orders.

• Select Warning and to view any warnings on the order.

• Select Unlinked Ingredients and to view any unlinked ingredients on the order.
  • Users will need to link Inventory items to Menus ingredients before creating orders from School Daily Menus.
